Weight Loss Miracle – Self-hypnosis Plus the South Beach Diet

By admin | November 23, 2009

The South Beach diet is one of the most widely used ways to lose weight today. It is based around diet and lifestyle changes that help you steadily lose weight. By cutting out “bad” fats and carbohydrates and having plenty of “good” ones, dieters can take weight off without feeling deprived or sacrificing their health.

There are three stages in the diet program. During the first phase, dieters avoid all carbohydrates except for vegetables. Although many foods are restricted, dieters still have a wide range of foods they can eat. The first phase is the most difficult phase, but also the shortest since it only takes fourteen days. Dieters can expect to lose around ten pounds during this time.

In phase two, dieters begin incorporating the previously banned carb-rich foods into their meals. Dieters are expected to lose 1 to 2 pounds each week while steadily raising the volume of carbohydrates they eat. The second phase lasts until dieters attain their target weight.

The third phase is the maintenance phase. Dieters utilize their healthy eating strategies from phase two to maintain their goal weight throughout the duration of their lives. If dieters start to put on weight, they may go back to the first phase of the diet.

It is likely that you have seen pre-prepared South Beach meals and snacks sold in stores. These items are handy, but you do not need to buy them in order to follow the diet. You only need to commit to the different general guidelines for each phase of the diet.

During phase one of the diet, you are permitted to consume lean meats, such as turkey, chicken, and fish, eggs, most vegetables, nuts, and a limited amount of dairy products. Fruit juices and fruit are not eaten during this phase because they are high in sugar. Also banned are all carbohydrates, fatty cuts of meat, alcohol, and a few vegetables that are rather high in sugar content, such as corn. The point of this phase is to ban “bad” carbohydrates from your diet and initiate the process of losing weight.

During the second phase, dieters gradually reintroduce fruit, whole grains, and other banned foods into their diet. In the process, dieters learn how to adjust their diet to maintain a desirable weight. Once this is successfully accomplished, the diet moves into the life maintenance phase, in which dieters attempt to maintain the healthy habits that brought them to their desired weight.

The factor for success with the South Beach program is committing to eating healthy. Although that appears easy, this diet program and most other diet programs stop working because dieters abandon the diet before the program can achieve results. The challenges that most dieters have with weight loss often result from deep-rooted issues such as a lack of drive to lose weight, a habit of binge eating, or out-of-control appetite. The good thing is that all of these issues can be resolved with techniques that anyone can learn from a high quality hypnotherapy weight loss CD program.

To treat a lack of motivation, a technique from a technology called Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) will induce a strong desire to stick to your dieting goals.

To begin, dieters pinpoint precisely what it is that is most important to them, as a person. This is called their “highly valued criteria.” Then, NLP techniques are applied to make the dieters feel that by losing weight, their highly valued criteria will become enhanced. An alternative is to make the dieter feel that if they do not lose weight, their highly valued criteria will be placed in jeopardy.

Motivation comes from what we believe in, not from logic! So in the previous case, let us say that the dieter’s most highly valued desire is that the dieter’s children are happy and safe. Using an NLP tool called Submodalities, we can guide the dieter into feeling that if she or he is unable to lose weight, the children will be condemned to emulating their parent and they will be overweight and unhappy. This type of belief will provide a strong desire and feeling to stick to a diet and take the weight off.

Several NLP techniques can help to reduce or even completely remove the urges and cravings that prompt one to eat too much. This works very well to help dieters stick to the first and most challenging weeks of the South Beach diet. Furthermore, helps dieters commit to an exercise program, which will increase the usefulness of any diet program.

Stress is an issue that often drives people to eat too much or stop paying attention to their health, but stress-relief is offered by both hypnosis and NLP techniques. One such tool is called the NLP Flash. With this technique, having the unconscious use stressful thoughts as triggers for relaxing thoughts relieves the stress that causes the impulse to eat excessively.

Out-of-control eating habits can also cause people to put on weight. A lot of people have seemingly unmanageable eating habits because over the years, they have developed a “conditioned response” to eat under certain circumstances. For example, many of us snack on junk food in front of the television even though we aren’t actually hungry. The good thing is, hypnosis and NLP both have techniques that can quickly eliminate these conditioned responses. These techniques eliminate the appetite without drugs or pills.

By targeting the underlying problems that prevent people from shedding pounds, NLP and hypnosis has helped many people finally get in the best shape of their lives. When used with the South Beach plan, dieters may enjoy easy weight loss and success at achieving their fitness goals.

Hypnosis and Polarity For Weight Loss

By admin | November 23, 2009

Judy came to us to as a last resort; often hypnotherapy is the last resort. It should be the first choice, for its effectiveness and influence on our life but unfortunately it isn’t.
So Judy came to us to lose 25 pounds of extra weight, and to experience one of our weight loss hypnosis programs and asked if there is anything else that can make it even more successful.
Judy was very talkative, happy with her husband and three young children, the youngest one just five. But it became more and more obvious that her happiness was shaky. Judy was looking to lose excess weight and just wasn’t able to achieve her goal, especially since the youngest son was born. She tried various diets and exercise, but the routine house duties, and eventually the new account executive job busying her with frequent client lunches and dinners took over her wishful eating schedule. She always had a “sweet tooth” but now started a full-blown “obsession with sweets” as she called it. “One thing led to another,” and here she was.
To stimulate weight loss results we offered her a hypno-polarity program, integrating hypnosis and polarity therapy, and she open-mindedly accepted.
So what is hypnosis? As many know, but often forget, Hypnosis is a very natural state of mind. We are in hypnosis a lot of the time of our life. Any time we are concentrated on one particular thing: a book we are reading, a movie we are watching, work on the computer, physical exercise, we are concentrated with a by-pass of a conscious function, in other words to the exclusion of anything else. Hypnosis is a very easy state to develop. All you have to do is close your eyes and imagine, for example your living room. But don’t do it right now as you are reading the article, and I truly want you to finish reading it, as there is some very interesting bonus for you in the end.
So hypnosis is a focused state of mind and such state creates openness to suggestions (suggestibility). It is at this moment when your mind id relaxed and open, a hypnotist creates a series of post-hypnotic suggestions, which if accepted, improve your life when you go home.
Now, suggestions may be difficult to accept. For example, if you are given a suggestion you feel uneasy about, e.g. lose weight, you might not agree to accept this suggestion, even in hypnosis, so there we need to do more work.
Professional hypnotherapists know what to do in this case. So don’t worry, you will go home losing weight. Hypnosis authorities such as Milton Erickson and others developed various methods of integrating suggestions.
So, now let us explore what is Polarity and how can we integrate it with Hypnotherapy?
A Swiss doctor, a chiropractor, Dr. Randolph Stone, first described polarity Therapy in 1920s. He noticed certain parallels between health and energy imbalances in a human body over the years of his work and research with patients. The various relations he later discovered between the elements of nature (earth, water, fire, air and ether) and the human energies in parts of the body. The correlation between the psychological balance, proper nutrition, sensible exercise and a healthy body in Dr. Stone’s theory correspond with the known ancient principles of Mind, Body and Spirit being one and in balance with the universal spirit.
Polarity is a diverse energy based modality with an array of healing tools. At the base of the theory lies a principle that imbalances in the circulation and free flow of life energy lead to mental and emotional distress and physical illness. When our life energy is balanced the result is a healthy body and clarity in thought and emotion. Polarity practitioners work from the standpoint that healing comes from within. With proper nutrition, meditation and balance of the elements within one’s body one can achieve miraculous healing. This is why integrating hypnotherapy and Polarity makes for a session with nearly miraculous results.
The process integrating Polarity Therapy and Hypnosis (we call HypnoPolarity TM) working together in our Weight Loss Program has three basic successful features in our 3-step program – Awareness, Acknowledgement and Commitment.
The practitioner and the client work together to allow the client’s own inner healing response to emerge. The client sits in a chair or lays or a massage table, while practitioner gently guides her through with light touches on her body and softly spoken suggestions for relaxation of parts of her body, triggering the release of tension.
Often, the client may spontaneously express emotions related to developing awareness of balancing energy within body and mind. This often happens when tense, compressed muscle tissues begin to relax, as a consequence of a general unwinding of the body and the mind in a hypnotic state.
Awareness
I ask Judy to evaluate her own eating habits. Her main problem was not snacking: she does not snack at work, or eat late at night in bed while watching TV. It was overeating. She eats a lot, literally, a lot of food. Sitting in a comfortable recliner, she almost regretfully described how as part of her job she has to attend business lunches, socialize and go out with clients to dinners. She is successful with clients, but not with keeping track of the food she intakes. Naturally a happy person, she tries to put away feelings of weight gain and is now very often upset looking at herself in a mirror. She sought help through HypnoPolarity.
Acknowledgement
Acknowledging that she needs treatment and seeking professional help was what she needed as a next step. She was offered a series of evaluations of her old eating habits and a worksheet for creating new eating habits.
As part of the exercise she was asked to fill a daily food log and begin regular exercise while reducing the portion size and the amount of calorie intake by half, eating half-portions of her meals, compensating by eating slowly, mindfully, and using her positive anchors, keeping the image of her new slim figure in the mind’s eye.
As part of polarity integration with hypnosis we moved on to the light polarity touch bodywork incorporating positive hypnotic suggestions empowering her with benefits of future image recorded for her to take home as her reinforcement mp3 at the time of the bodywork.
The session continued on a straight massage table, client fully clothed.
Judy’s post-hypnotic suggestions included direct suggestions for weight loss and self-esteem enhancement, suggestions directed toward improved concentration and focus in life, as well as suggestions for accepting her new slim and fit image. Further, specialized guided imagery accompanied working on the various points in her body emanating the release of the energy needed balancing.
She began unconsciously exploring each current emotion, and in the next segment moves naturally to a release creating a deeper feeling of fulfillment and accomplishment, simultaneously experiencing feelings of warmth and weightlessness, ending in deep body and mind relaxation. Her body released great amounts of energy, the emotional rejuvenation.
It was suggested to Judy that in her imagination she collects all unwanted weight and puts it is a basket attaching a bunch of colorful balloons to the handle of it and releases it up in the air. تIt was also suggested that she imagines the weight melting down out of her body through and through.
Three weeks she reported 8 pounds of weight loss. 4 months later she reported 25 pounds of weight loss.تThe weight stayed off in the next year’s follow up.
Alex, 24, stopped smoking with hypnosis. He called two months later and said plainly: “I just wanted to tell you that your hypno-program works…”
Larissa, 16, could not stop biting her lips. This annoying habit was with her since she was little, and she was not able to display her lips without bloody cracks in them. She stopped biting her lips in one hypnosis session. Tanya, 39, was also able to conquer her obsession with food, and reported lost 11 pounds in 6 weeks. Bill, 67, lost 26 pounds. He stayed with the hypno-polarity program for 8 weeks contemplating the awakening of his body and mind.
While creating your own feeling of being well and emotional stability, you could, find a solution to your own pressing issue. We invite you to discover your own balance and let us know of your interest in hypnosis or polarity through finding more information at http://www.NewYorkAwareness.com.

How Hypnosis Will Aid Your Weight Loss

By admin | November 23, 2009

The rise in the cases of obesity has started a flood of activity among researchers in finding the best solution to weight loss woes. Weight loss hypnosis is one of the most attractive and interesting methods of losing weight proposed as it signifies an easy solution to the problem of weight loss and control. Despite this, hypnosis is frequently misused by some unscrupulous entities who want to take advantage of people’s want and need for a fast and easy solution to lose weight.
There is an abundance of material available on the internet about losing weight with hypnosis. This method is being sold through audiotapes, books, videotapes, and seminar participations. Most, if not all, of these products and programs claim to be able to change an individual’s state of mind almost instantaneously, producing results in a very short period of time. Everyone should be mindful and vigilant about these types of claims as most are unfounded and fraudulent.
In spite of the bad media surrounding weight loss hypnosis, it has been found through a number of studies that hypnosis, when used with other behavioral management programs, can have a very positive effect on losing weight. Most behavioral programs used together with weight loss hypnosis are those designed to change an individual’s eating pattern. It was also seen that individuals who underwent a weight loss hypnosis and behavioral management program designed specifically for their needs lost more weight than individuals who underwent group therapy. This type of weight loss method has been found to be most effective for individuals who want to undergo a small amount of losing weight. It has also been found to be an effective way of maintaining and controlling weight.
Weight loss hypnosis, as with other types of hypnotic therapies, works mainly by increasing the individual’s receptiveness to suggestions that are presented to reinforce the loss of weight. This is done through a process of leading the individual into a state of heightened relaxation and suggestibility. Hypnosis can help people to in creating healthy patterns for long term food consumption as well as help in learning and using positive eating behaviors. The ability to help individuals through the aforementioned manners makes weight loss hypnosis an ideal supplement to other weight management programs.
The use of hypnosis for losing weight requires an extended period of time and substantial effort. People who claim otherwise are those that only intend to sell hypnosis to unfortunate individuals who easily fall prey to marketing hoopla. If by chance the lure of using hypnosis tapes is still great, keep in mind that these programs lack substantial scientific evidence that supports its success.

By admin | November 22, 2009

Before you learn self hypnosis to stop smoking leys get a little information about self hypnosis first. Self hypnosis is simply a state of deep relaxation where your subconscious and conscious minds are on the same level leaving your subconscious open to suggestion.

You can not get stuck in hypnosis, you will not do things that you would not normally do. Self hypnosis induction simply means something that leads you into a hypnotic state. A self hypnosis script is something that you use that is written out to use for induction.

Self hypnosis can be a very useful tool for stop smoking, weight loss, stress relief or other areas of our daily lives. Self hypnosis can be a very powerful tool once its learned. Over time with daily use it becomes much easier to induce hypnosis.

Now for a short self hypnosis script you can use to experience what self hypnosis is all about and how it can be used to stop smoking, weight loss or and other areas you need help in.

You need to find a place and the time where you will not be disturbed. You need about 30 minutes alone time. You can either lie down or be seated in a comfortable chair. Always make your list of suggestions before you begin.

Use short and to the point suggestions such as “I will not crave nicotine’ or ‘I will not eat that extra piece of pie for desert” and always speak your suggestions as if it has already happened as if it has already come true.

Once you have become comfortable and are ready to begin start by feeling yourself breath. Feel every breath in and out. No need to worry just experience your breath. Feel yourself on the bed or chair. Breath in out, relax.

Imagine yourself inside a bubble and it is safe and very comfortable inside. You can relax very deeply inside your bubble, just breathing and becoming more and more relaxed. When you are inside your bubble you can put things out you don’t want or bring things in that you want there.

You can put out stress, fear, and bad habits or bring in good things like self control a feeling of well being or self-esteem. Just breathe, relax and drift deeper. Tell yourself that each time you practice self hypnosis you will be able to go under faster, deeper and easier.

When practicing self hypnosis always try to remain awake. If you fall asleep it is not going to damage you but you need to remain awake. Always being yourself out of hypnosis when you have finished.

Still thinking of your breathing you can feel yourself becoming aware of the surroundings. Get ready to begin to move and feeling energized and refreshed. Take a deep breath open your eyes and come out relaxed and ready to finish out your day.

Hypnosis Works for Weight Loss

Hypnosis Works for Weight Loss

By C. Devin Hastings

Novel and Effective Weight Reduction Technique Does Not Require Pills, Patches, Supplements or Surgery and Can Easily Prevent Holiday Weight Gain.

Holiday weight gain is a problem for millions of Americans. Researchers at the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) and the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) found that a large percentage of Americans who gain weight during the winter holiday season do not lose the extra weight. In fact, the weight accumulates over the years.

NICHD Director Duane Alexander, M.D. who noticed this troublesome trend states:

“These findings suggest that developing ways to avoid holiday weight gain may be extremely important for preventing obesity and the diseases associated with it.”

Devin Hastings, a researcher and international speaker on diabetes and the mind states: “During the holiday season, many people with diabetes face very tough challenges. Harmful eating habits and weight gain are dangerous and difficult problems for them. Because of this, I looked for safe answers that could help my diabetic and overweight clients.”

Devin’s research “led me to surprising clinical weight loss findings that can help not only diabetics but anyone who struggles with weight loss.”

As a result of his research and client successes, Devin created a very informative website for those who are dealing with obesity and weight loss challenges. This website, www.Weight-Loss-Answers.com (or www.WLA4U.com) contains information that has helped many of his clients to lose weight successfully and permanently.

“Safe, sustainable weight loss is an inside job. Diet pills, weight loss programs or even weight loss surgery can not do what really needs to be done”, says Devin who, 9 years ago, lost over 40 pounds using the method studied and validated by Harold B. Crasilneck, Ph.D. and James A. Hall, M.D.

What safe weight loss method did doctors Crasilneck and Hall confirm as effective? They found that: “Hypnotherapy can often help in treating obesity, an observation that is one of the most clinically confirmed in all the literature on hypnosis.”(1)

This statement is made more credible because these doctors did two important things: First, they conducted their own studies and second they conducted a comprehensive meta-analysis of a large number of other reliable hypnosis weight loss studies.

Although this evidence is extremely compelling Devin cautions: “Hypnosis is not a magic wand. Although some of my clients have easily lost a lot of weight in a very short period of time, most of the incredible changes I have seen my clients make are accomplished over time and with commitment.”

Is there other believable evidence that hypnosis can help people with diabetes and weight loss problems? Yes. In the July 2001 issue of Scientific American it states:

“A 1996 National Institutes of Health technology assessment panel judged hypnosis to be an effective intervention for alleviating pain from cancer and other chronic conditions.

Voluminous clinical studies also indicate that hypnosis can reduce the acute pain experienced by patients undergoing burn-wound debridement, children enduring bone marrow aspirations and women in labor.

A meta-analysis published in a recent special issue of the International Journal of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis, for example, found that hypnotic suggestions relieved the pain of 75 percent of 933 subjects participating in 27 different experiments. The pain-relieving effect of hypnosis is often substantial, and in a few cases the degree of relief matches or exceeds that provided by morphine.” (2)

If severe pain can be controlled by hypnosis then one can imagine weight loss cravings also being controlled by hypnosis.

Also, given the dubious safety and effectiveness of diet pills and the hazards of invasive and often ineffective surgery, one must wonder why, if hypnosis is so obviously effective for pain management, why isn’t it used before drastic and very expensive steps for weight loss are taken?

And, since hypnosis has been proven to have the ability to match or exceed the power of morphine then one must wonder how much better hypnosis is than diet pills and diet patches.

Who has used hypnosis to change their lives for the better? A number of people. Internet research has revealed the following well-known people have benefited from the use of hypnosis:

–Sondra Ray, author of The Only Diet There Is and several other best sellers.

–Tom Mankiewicz, the super talent who wrote “Superman the Movie”

–Beau Upchurch, a power-house pitcher for the Dodgers baseball team.

Devin Hastings also states: ” I can absolutely assure you of 2 things: (1) Someone will change their life for the better now because they have just discovered that intelligent and accomplished people have successfully used hypnosis. (2) It is far easier and cheaper to hypnotically prevent weight gain than it is to lose weight.”

Hypnosis has been proven to help anyone use the power of their mind in a positive, life changing manner. This fact is clinically confirmed and, interestingly some of society’s most successful have used hypnosis.

As a self-improvement method, hypnosis is worth serious investigation—especially during the holiday season which is a time of great stress, weight gain, short tempers and holiday blues.

How Does Weight Loss Hypnosis Complement A Diet Or Exercise Program

By admin | November 21, 2009

Many people who have not done well at weight loss hypnosis programs usually do not have a good picture or have a realistic expectation of what the hypnosis therapy session can bring to them or what it can help to do to their bodies. It is those same bunch of people who thinks that their years of accumulated fat in their body will just disappear with just one session of hypnosis for weight loss program. Going into such a program without a realistic expectation will most certainly cause the program to fail. No matter you are taking up a new diet program or a gym routine, you need to know what exactly the program is going to do for you and how long it takes and what are the milestones that you can measure against so you know you are making progress.
Taking up a weight loss hypnosis program thinking its a miracle pill is foolhardly. However, if used correctly, the program will give you the extra edge in gaining control over your weight. Engaging a good qualified hypnosis therapist will be tremendously helpful to you. One of the advice that they will give is that weight loss hypnosis is not something that you can use by itself, in that you cannot simply “think” your pounds away. If it was that simple, there would not be a need for the existance for gyms and diets. Does that mean that weight loss hypnosis is useless ? Nothing can be further from the truth.
Modern hypnosis techniques has been used and perfected over hundreds of years. They are used to build self-confidence, change and modify habits, stop smoking problems, improve memory and of course, helping people lose and manage weight. Many people who have picked up a diet or gym routine initially finds that their weight may be dropping slightly. They get so happy and lose their head and starts to overindulge in food again and their weight shoots back up. This cycle continues on and on, and they continue picking up new diet and exercise books to try it out, without realizing that the cause of the weight problems is in themselves.
Weight Loss Hypnosis complements your diet or gym routine by modifying the self-defeating thoughts hidden deep in your subconscious mind. It is in your subconscious mind that your feelings and emotions are kept. Many studies have shown that feelings and emotions are almost always stronger then logic. That’s why sometimes you know you should not be eating but then you “can’t help” but eat it anyway. All our habitual and behaviour controlling our thoughts resides in the subconscious mind. During a hypnotic session, a qualified weight loss hypnosis therapist will induce you into a relaxed, hypnotic state. Then the therapist will attempt to “re-program” your habits and inner thoughts to make you more aware of what you are eating, how much you are eating and how to control your appetite in a safe and natural way.
However, going for a hypnosis session is not the means to an end. For you to gain the most out of your hypnotic weight management sessions, the motivation to change must come from within you. Hypnotic suggestions should be repeated on a regular basis until you notice a change. You can either go for regular hypnotic sessions or you can purchase hypnotic cds for weight loss so you can listen to it every day till you notice a change. The key to succeeding relies on you wanting to change.
Weight Loss Hypnosis may sound tedious at first, yet, if done correctly, you will realize that suddenly you can follow any diet or gym routine that you have picked up for yourself without forcing yourself through it. You will learn to enjoy the diet routine because of your changed mindset towards food. No longer will you have uncontrollable cravings or overeating sessions. No longer will you skip your gym sessions because you are tired. The hypnosis programs re-programs your thoughts and habits to make following your diet and gym sessions a second nature to you. This re-programming of thoughts and habits is even more important then just simply losing the weight because this is the part where it keeps the weight off for the rest of your life.
Hence, weight loss hypnosis is a powerful tool in helping you combat your weight management goals and it is a formidable partner in complementing any of your diet or exercise programs.

Self Hypnosis For Weight Loss – Four Easy Steps

By admin | November 21, 2009

Many different pictures come to mind when people hear the words self hypnosis for weight loss.  You may think of somebody laying on a couch being talked to in a soothing voice or maybe what comes to mind is one of those old TV shows where someone was hypnotized by a shiny, dangling watch.  Although you may have preconceived notions about self hypnosis for weight loss, it is practiced by hundreds of thousands of people around the world and is highly effective when done properly.Self hypnosis for weight loss is pretty easy to practice.  You use techniques such as visualization and positive self talk to program your mind to think in a new way after you have brought your body into a completely relaxed state.STEP 1The first thing you need to do to practice self hypnosis for weight loss is to get comfortable.  Laying down will work best, just make sure you don’t fall asleep.  To release tension in your body start by tensing then relaxing each part of your body starting from your forehead down to your toes.  While you’re doing this you can visualize standing under a gentle waterfall and imagine that the water flowing over your body is washing away all your tension.STEP 2Next you’ll want to focus on your breathing. Imagine that when you are inhaling pure, fresh oxygen is filling up your body.  As you slowly exhale repeat the word relax to yourself.  To deepen your sense of relaxation you can visualize yourself going down a long flight of stairs slowly or or simply count down from 100 as you focus on your body relaxing more and more.STEP 3Once you are completely relaxed you will use positive affirmations to address the issues concerning you.  If you’re using self hypnosis for weight loss you may want to try suggestions like “I enjoy the taste of fruit and vegetables,” “I love how I feel after I exercise,” “I enjoy being slim and fit.” You just need to keep repeating these affirmations until you feel satisfied.STEP 4To come back to awareness simply count from 0 to 10 while focusing on the numbers until you feel completely awake.  You may have to count from 0 to 10 more than once until you feel ready to get up and start normal activities again.Developing your own self hypnosis for weight loss program will go a long way to helping you finally overcome the obstacles holding you back from losing weight and keeping it off.

Weight Loss: Hypnosis Can Help Melt the Pounds Away

By admin | November 21, 2009

How useful is weight loss hypnosis? There are several factors which prove hypnosis for weight loss works and it includes these factors:
1. It helps in building positive self-image.
2. It helps by encouraging our subconscious to adopt and practice new healthier habits.
3. It helps in encouraging a more relaxed approach to food and physical activity.
4. It helps in reducing the negative thinking which keeps many dieters from sticking to their plan.
5. The most important point is that it helps in reducing stress. We all know that stress leads to smoking, over-consumption of coffee and alcohol and over-eating as well.
There is no need to visit a professional hypnotist for this purpose. A person can use a self-hypnosis technique for an overall weight loss plan. Self-hypnosis is easy to learn and one can learn it just by reading books also. But if you are completely unaware about this technique then it will be good to visit a hypnotist for the initial instructions.
Many professionals have studied and identified a number of variables that will predict a positive outcome:
1. It should be clear in your mind that you want to change. It is like this because when you will start losing the weight, then it will have a ripple effect on other aspects of your life. You should be ready to deal with these effects.
2. You need to be ready and willing to change your lifestyle. This technique is not going to work if you are not going have a proper diet and exercise regularly.
3. You should be committed to regular self-hypnosis sessions, which can take time and much repetition for changing the deeply integrated lifestyle behaviors.
A good book you should check out is called The Self-Hypnosis Diet: Use the Power of Your Mind to Reach Your Perfect Weight (2007), written by Dr. Andrew Weil, Steven Gurgevich and Joy Gurgevich. There is one more popular book Eight Weeks to Optimum Health. The doctor behind this book offers his introduction to the latest book by Dr. Steven Gurgevich and Joy Gurgevich.
Should hypnotic CDs be used instead of books for weight loss? Using a hypnosis CD is much easier than adopting a book. It is because the hypnosis CDs for weight loss has audios and mp3 formats of the professional hypnotist. You will just feel that you are sitting in front of a professional hypnotist.

Time+a Diary=weight Loss

By admin | November 21, 2009

Many business professionals use a diary to plan their day and week. Whether its a filofax or an A4 book, business people recognize the huge potential of listing their most immediate objectives. This works in business but it also works for weight loss! Through the use of a food diary you can list all yur objectives for the coming days and weeks but you can also do much, much more. Through using your diary you can identify problem areas around yur eating and exercise, adjust your approach to food and structure your day more effectively. Let me show you how.

A food diary like this allows you the opportunity of reviewing your behaviours and gives you the means for formulating new plans to help build new behaviours. These changes then act as a guide for setting weight-loss, eating and exercise goals. A food diary is a great way of tracking your progress. It gives you the opportunity to look back over the course of days, weeks and months to see how you have altered your approach and reached your goals. This is extremely motivating and reassuring. As you see how well you have done you are spurred on to even greater action. In a similar manner you can become more conscious of those times when you broke your new routine, ate that extra piece of cake, failed to exercise et. However, armed with this knowledge you can formulate a plan to deal with the problems that you have identified.

A food diary gives you the opportunity to make a conscious choice about your eating habits instead of going on automatic around food. Writing down what you can eat and can’t eat and reviewing your goals for the day sets out a clear plan and allows you to think twice before you act. A daily and weekly diary, with goals and strategies, is an approach used in business and by almost all high-achievers. They use it because it works.

To begin with you will just right down everything you eat and drink during the day. You will add your leisure activities like walking, jogging or just watching television. While you are in the middle of the task think about the reason or motivation behind doing it. Then once you have finished write the reason down in your diary. Do this with every activity even when you eat. This will allow you to analyse your motivations.

Once you have a week’s full of diary entries look back over it. You will find definite patterns emerging. Look closely at those patterns and use them to structure an eating and exercise plan for the upcoming week. Write an entry each day of what you will eat and what activity you will perform to help shed those excess pounds. For example, if you find that you are eating at certain times during the day because you are bored then this is an excellent time to pen into your diary an exercise activity or anything else that will relieve the boredom! Diligence and persistence is required to keep and follow your food diary but once you do the rewards are tremendous. Many people do not realize just how much they snack or eat due to reasons that have nothing to do with hunger. Your diary will help you see and deal with such times. It will also help you to formulate realistic goals because you have to put the activities and food you will eat down on paper. In the begining you may find that your aspirations outway your capabilities. Many times when we first start using a food diary we cram it with activities that are unrealistic. On the other hand some people don’t fill it up enough and find that they have too much time on their hands and we all know this leads to over-eating! However, with practise and time you will reach a comprimise with yourself.

Remember to jot down exactly how you feel and take note of the emotions. Our emotions truly do rule our behaviour. The more honest you are with yourself the more you will get out of this process. If you find that you are eating from stress or emotional issues then put it into your diary, as one of your activities, that you need to find techniques and approaches to deal with these emotions. Hypnosis, subliminals and other self improvement techniques have high success rates when it comes to re-programming our behaviours and eliminating emotional issues.

Keeping a diary can take some getting used to in the beginning, and to many it may sound like a waste of time, but it is a proven method for helping reach and maintain a healthy weight and has been shown to help people reach goals of all kinds.
