Weight Loss Miracle – Self-hypnosis Plus the South Beach Diet

November 23rd, 2009

The South Beach diet is one of the most widely used ways to lose weight today. It is based around diet and lifestyle changes that help you steadily lose weight. By cutting out “bad” fats and carbohydrates and having plenty of “good” ones, dieters can take weight off without feeling deprived or sacrificing their health.

There are three stages in the diet program. During the first phase, dieters avoid all carbohydrates except for vegetables. Although many foods are restricted, dieters still have a wide range of foods they can eat. The first phase is the most difficult phase, but also the shortest since it only takes fourteen days. Dieters can expect to lose around ten pounds during this time.

In phase two, dieters begin incorporating the previously banned carb-rich foods into their meals. Dieters are expected to lose 1 to 2 pounds each week while steadily raising the volume of carbohydrates they eat. The second phase lasts until dieters attain their target weight.

The third phase is the maintenance phase. Dieters utilize their healthy eating strategies from phase two to maintain their goal weight throughout the duration of their lives. If dieters start to put on weight, they may go back to the first phase of the diet.

It is likely that you have seen pre-prepared South Beach meals and snacks sold in stores. These items are handy, but you do not need to buy them in order to follow the diet. You only need to commit to the different general guidelines for each phase of the diet.

During phase one of the diet, you are permitted to consume lean meats, such as turkey, chicken, and fish, eggs, most vegetables, nuts, and a limited amount of dairy products. Fruit juices and fruit are not eaten during this phase because they are high in sugar. Also banned are all carbohydrates, fatty cuts of meat, alcohol, and a few vegetables that are rather high in sugar content, such as corn. The point of this phase is to ban “bad” carbohydrates from your diet and initiate the process of losing weight.

During the second phase, dieters gradually reintroduce fruit, whole grains, and other banned foods into their diet. In the process, dieters learn how to adjust their diet to maintain a desirable weight. Once this is successfully accomplished, the diet moves into the life maintenance phase, in which dieters attempt to maintain the healthy habits that brought them to their desired weight.

The factor for success with the South Beach program is committing to eating healthy. Although that appears easy, this diet program and most other diet programs stop working because dieters abandon the diet before the program can achieve results. The challenges that most dieters have with weight loss often result from deep-rooted issues such as a lack of drive to lose weight, a habit of binge eating, or out-of-control appetite. The good thing is that all of these issues can be resolved with techniques that anyone can learn from a high quality hypnotherapy weight loss CD program.

To treat a lack of motivation, a technique from a technology called Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) will induce a strong desire to stick to your dieting goals.

To begin, dieters pinpoint precisely what it is that is most important to them, as a person. This is called their “highly valued criteria.” Then, NLP techniques are applied to make the dieters feel that by losing weight, their highly valued criteria will become enhanced. An alternative is to make the dieter feel that if they do not lose weight, their highly valued criteria will be placed in jeopardy.

Motivation comes from what we believe in, not from logic! So in the previous case, let us say that the dieter’s most highly valued desire is that the dieter’s children are happy and safe. Using an NLP tool called Submodalities, we can guide the dieter into feeling that if she or he is unable to lose weight, the children will be condemned to emulating their parent and they will be overweight and unhappy. This type of belief will provide a strong desire and feeling to stick to a diet and take the weight off.

Several NLP techniques can help to reduce or even completely remove the urges and cravings that prompt one to eat too much. This works very well to help dieters stick to the first and most challenging weeks of the South Beach diet. Furthermore, helps dieters commit to an exercise program, which will increase the usefulness of any diet program.

Stress is an issue that often drives people to eat too much or stop paying attention to their health, but stress-relief is offered by both hypnosis and NLP techniques. One such tool is called the NLP Flash. With this technique, having the unconscious use stressful thoughts as triggers for relaxing thoughts relieves the stress that causes the impulse to eat excessively.

Out-of-control eating habits can also cause people to put on weight. A lot of people have seemingly unmanageable eating habits because over the years, they have developed a “conditioned response” to eat under certain circumstances. For example, many of us snack on junk food in front of the television even though we aren’t actually hungry. The good thing is, hypnosis and NLP both have techniques that can quickly eliminate these conditioned responses. These techniques eliminate the appetite without drugs or pills.

By targeting the underlying problems that prevent people from shedding pounds, NLP and hypnosis has helped many people finally get in the best shape of their lives. When used with the South Beach plan, dieters may enjoy easy weight loss and success at achieving their fitness goals.

How Hypnosis Will Aid Your Weight Loss

November 23rd, 2009

The rise in the cases of obesity has started a flood of activity among researchers in finding the best solution to weight loss woes. Weight loss hypnosis is one of the most attractive and interesting methods of losing weight proposed as it signifies an easy solution to the problem of weight loss and control. Despite this, hypnosis is frequently misused by some unscrupulous entities who want to take advantage of people’s want and need for a fast and easy solution to lose weight.
There is an abundance of material available on the internet about losing weight with hypnosis. This method is being sold through audiotapes, books, videotapes, and seminar participations. Most, if not all, of these products and programs claim to be able to change an individual’s state of mind almost instantaneously, producing results in a very short period of time. Everyone should be mindful and vigilant about these types of claims as most are unfounded and fraudulent.
In spite of the bad media surrounding weight loss hypnosis, it has been found through a number of studies that hypnosis, when used with other behavioral management programs, can have a very positive effect on losing weight. Most behavioral programs used together with weight loss hypnosis are those designed to change an individual’s eating pattern. It was also seen that individuals who underwent a weight loss hypnosis and behavioral management program designed specifically for their needs lost more weight than individuals who underwent group therapy. This type of weight loss method has been found to be most effective for individuals who want to undergo a small amount of losing weight. It has also been found to be an effective way of maintaining and controlling weight.
Weight loss hypnosis, as with other types of hypnotic therapies, works mainly by increasing the individual’s receptiveness to suggestions that are presented to reinforce the loss of weight. This is done through a process of leading the individual into a state of heightened relaxation and suggestibility. Hypnosis can help people to in creating healthy patterns for long term food consumption as well as help in learning and using positive eating behaviors. The ability to help individuals through the aforementioned manners makes weight loss hypnosis an ideal supplement to other weight management programs.
The use of hypnosis for losing weight requires an extended period of time and substantial effort. People who claim otherwise are those that only intend to sell hypnosis to unfortunate individuals who easily fall prey to marketing hoopla. If by chance the lure of using hypnosis tapes is still great, keep in mind that these programs lack substantial scientific evidence that supports its success.

The Three Bodies of Weight Loss

November 17th, 2009

The following words may seem taboo: weight loss is easy! We have just been going about it the wrong way. Almost all of the products and diets on the market today miss key components to achieving permanent weight loss. Almost all of them only focus on the physical body- what we eat, how much we eat, when we eat and how much we exercise. If that is all that is necessary, then why have you not achieved your ideal weight? Why do diets and pills have a success rate of less than 9%? The reason is simple: there is a missing link to permanent weight loss. The physical aspect of weight loss is only one third of the equation.

There are three separate aspects that must addressed for permanent weight loss, and I like to refer to them as the three bodies. The physical body is the first. The other bodies for weight loss are the missing links; the mental body and the emotional body. The mental body includes your eating habits, orientation and perception of food. The emotional body includes the emotional reasons you eat, your attitudes toward food, and the underlying reasons you are overweight. When you work with all three bodies, it makes weight loss easy! Imagine sitting on a stool with only one leg. How long could you balance yourself? That is what it is like attempting to lose weight while only focusing on the physical- it becomes a balancing act and a struggle to stay upright! If you find a stool that is steady with three legs, there is no balancing act at all. It is easy to comfortably sit on a balanced stool! When you have a plan that focuses on the physical, mental and emotional bodies of weight loss, you feel comfortable and secure, and your success rate dramatically increases from that of diets alone.

It is important to understand why the mental and emotional bodies play such a large role in weight loss. If making a change was as easy as simply stating the desire, we would all be ultra-healthy, thin millionaires with the perfect partners. How many times have you made a New Years resolution and had it fall through? Because we are creatures of habit, change can sometimes be difficult. When you want to make a change, sometimes it feels as though you are pushing against something inside of yourself. What you are pushing against is your unconscious (AKA subconscious) mind.

Let’s talk quickly about the unconscious mind. The unconscious works very differently than the conscious mind. For example, when you think about not being allowed to eat cheesecake, it makes the unconscious mind want to eat cheesecake even more because you are thinking about cheesecake! The unconscious does not know that cheesecake is bad because it only understands pictures and emotions, so all it sees is cheesecake! The more you think about not wanting the cheesecake, the more and more appealing it becomes until finally… well you know what happens. In order to easily avoid “bad” foods and cut down on or totally halt cravings, it is important to work with the “language” of the unconscious mind.

While I could go into much more detail, I also want to briefly discuss the emotional body of eating. There are two types of hunger- biological and emotional, and it is easy to tell the difference. Biological hunger comes on gradually and patiently, while emotional hunger comes on suddenly and feels urgent. Underlying feelings such as self-loathing, hopelessness, sadness, or worthlessness are often at the root of emotional hunger. Less intense emotions such as boredom can become a culprit as well. Whatever the underlying emotion is, eating is simply masking what is going on in your life. When you notice that you are experiencing emotional hunger, instead of asking “What should I eat?”, a better question to ask is “What is eating me?” Start keeping a list of those feelings and thoughts and find a way to resolve them! There are so many modalities that can help you let go of negative emotions and beliefs, such as psychotherapy, hypnosis, Emotional Freedom Techniques, Time Empowerment (my personal favorite), and Body Alignment, just to name a few. In my personal practice, I find that having multiple modalities in my toolbox greatly increases the amount of change I can help a client achieve. If you are looking for assistance, you may want to seek someone skilled in many modalities as well.

In summary, when you work with all three bodies of weight loss- the physical, the mental, and the emotional- you greatly increase your chances at achieving permanent weight loss and you feel much better! Weight loss can be totally easy if you approach it in a way that works with you, instead of against you! Speed Up your Metabolic Rate for Quick Weight Loss With Nlp Cds

October 29th, 2009

We’ve all heard it or even said it one time or another: “I’m not able to lose weight because of my metabolism.” It’s easy to blame our extra fat on an abstract idea like metabolism, but let’s look at the real importance of metabolism – and better yet, how you can get the most “burn” for your buck by recharging your metabolism.

In the most basic sense, metabolism includes all of the physical and chemical changes that take place within the body’s cells. Most often, though, metabolism refers to the process in which the body gets and uses energy from what we eat, so it really does play an important part in weight loss and gain.

Not everyone is given the same metabolism, and our rates actually vary throughout our lives, so someone who blames their metabolism isn’t necessarily making excuses. Age affects metabolism, which will slow about 5% every 10 years after age 40, and by gender, as males typically burn more calories at rest than females, and by the quantity of muscle mass you have (more muscle generally means a higher rate of metabolism). Heredity also impacts metabolism, not to mention having children, as well as whether a woman decides to breast-feed.

In spit of all of the wild cards, the simple fact is that if your calorie intake surpasses your metabolism, excess energy will get housed in the body as fat. Though some of the issues affecting metabolic rate can’t be altered, fortunately, there are ways to rev up the metabolism you’re born with.

The first directive is to take in the correct foods in the correct amounts. When you skip a meal, your body goes into starvation mode, which slows metabolism to conserve calories, because it doesn’t know when it will get food again. And when the metabolism slows, so does the rate at which you lose weight.

When you finally do eat after having skipped a meal, instead of burning the calories in the food you have just taken in, your body transfers them to body fat to hold for the next “fast.” To keep your metabolism efficient, eat 4 – 6 smaller meals during the day and aim to eat close to the same times every day. Most importantly, never skip a meal.

You can also step up your metabolic rate with exercise, including both aerobic routines and weight lifting. Aerobic activities, such as dancing, biking and running, burn more calories in the short term, while weight lifting will create more muscle, which increases metabolism and burns more calories in the long term – even when you’re at rest, muscle uses more calories to function than fat.

In fact, every pound of muscle requires 35 calories a day, while every pound of fat requires only 2 calories per day. Despite this, you might be surprised that the more weight you have, the faster your metabolism is likely to run. Simply put, the extra weight forces your body work harder to maintain its processes.

This is partly why it is almost always easiest to lose weight when you start dieting, and gets challenging as you continue because, when you are significantly overweight, your metabolism is already at an elevated rate, so that even a slight cutback in calories will lead to an immediate weight loss.

But what happens after that immediate loss, when a plateau occurs and motivation seems to go by the “weigh” side? Persistent cravings and compulsions can swiftly return, and when they do, do not overlook a valuable resource – lose weight hypnosis. Hypnotherapy can actually retrain your unconscious so that, in essence, you can do away with food cravings. When we study why we snack, recognizing why weight loss hypnosis works so successfully becomes clear.

For a lot of us, snacking has become a habit – perhaps you do it unconsciously when you’re driving or watching TV or when you’re under stress. Hypnosis can actually reprogram your thoughts to stop those associations, leaving you to drive or watch TV without having the need to eat.

One of the most successful weight loss hypnosis techniques for curbing the snacking cycle is Neuro-Linguistic Programming, or NLP, which relies on negotiating with the unconscious mind and making it use the same thought processes that are creating your appetite, to eliminate your appetite. NLP takes many years of study and practical experience for a hypnotherapist to learn and master, but positive results can come very rapidly and seem almost magical to a person who has always struggled with cravings.

NLP can be just as essential as exercise and motivation because, as you read above, it can help make sure that you eat the right kinds of foods at the right times, and this is a chief part of turbo-charging your metabolism. If you want to keep your metabolism at full speed and make sure that all of hard work and exercise are not going to waste by yielding to your food temptations, weight loss hypnosis and NLP can be a secret weapon to eliminate your cravings once and for all.

Permanent, Safe, Healthy Weight Loss

October 23rd, 2009

Eating less is not the only or most efficient way to lose weight. Reducing your food intake dramatically may even be dangerous to your health. So how does one lose weight effectively and safely? And permanently?
Avoid Crash Diets at all costs
Most people think that cutting back the amount of calories they eat is enough to induce significant weight loss. Not so. A low-calorie diet is compensated for by the body by burning muscle instead of fat. People on this type of diet who revert back to their old eating habits end up gaining back more than they had lost. Or they may end up weighing the same, but with less muscle and more fat. And several different vitamin deficiencies. And a subdued immune system, making them more susceptible to colds and other infections. And lower self-esteem.
Avoid this no-win situation by eating small, healthy, well-balanced meals home-made of fresh, organic food at more frequent intervals. This way the body will not go into starvation mode, storing all food as fat.
Eat a wide selection of different foods
Consider not only when you are eating, but also what you are eating and how you are preparing it. Variety is essential so that one may be able to get the necessary nutrients from one’s diet. You are also less likely to get cravings if you do not feel deprived. It is healthier to eat food which is roasted, steamed or broiled rather than fried. Also include lots of fibre in the diet… And drink enough water! Tea, coffee, fruit juice (high sugar content) and soft drinks do not count.
Build Muscle Mass
You do not have to turn yourself into a bodybuilder. Just remember: Muscles burn calories when they work; even at rest. Unlike inert fat, muscles burn calories all-day round. Initiate, speed up or break through a plateau by increasing muscle mass. The more muscles, the less fat. Start slow and easy, build muscles gradually.
Speed up your Heart Rate
Aerobics are good for the heart because it increases cardio-vascular strength and endurance. Aerobics also help in increasing lean muscle mass while simultaneously decreasing excess body fat. Always discuss diet plans with your doctor, especially if you have any chronic disease and take short/long-term medication.
Self-hypnosis
Losing weight does not have to mean sacrifice and suffering. With self-hypnosis and neuro-linguistic programming you can retrain your mind to make healthier food choices, enjoy exercise, increase your self-respect and look after yourself more diligently. Hypnosis and NLP are the foundations of the weight loss program I designed to help my patients lose weight permanently.
Self-hypnosis is a long-term solution; the key to permanent, effortless weight loss and lasting motivation. You can find out more about it by subscribing to the Gorgeous Gourmet Newsletter, because it comes with a free 62 page e-book “Everything you ever wanted to know about Hypnosis”. And that’s not all…
Subscribing also gives you free access to five Christmas e-books, including the all-time classic A Christmas Carol…it’s the season for giving, after all.
Besides fat, what have you got to lose anyway?

Weight Loss Miracle – Hypnosis Cds Plus the Suddenly Slim Lifestyle System

October 20th, 2009

The Suddenly Slim plan is an herb-based weight loss program that offers a fast method to shed pounds using meal replacement shakes, pills, and supplements. This diet claims that within ten days, it can increase the metabolism to make the body burn calories and shed excess weight without altering diet or exercise habits.

The products used in this diet plan have a variety of herbal extracts often found in herbal-based weight loss products. The diet plan claims that the herbal extracts work by reducing the appetite, increasing energy levels and metabolic rate, and cleansing the body in a detoxification process.

The diet lasts for only ten days, during which the dieter consumes diet shakes and takes diet pills. The shakes are meant to satisfy and eliminate hunger and provide the body with essential nutrition. The diet supplements and pills include ingredients such as caffeine, green tea, and soy protein to promote health and losing weight.

Before trying any herbal supplement or weight loss drug, it is best to ask your doctor about the health risks of the diet and whether it is the right plan for you. Many ingredients may have beneficial health effects, but as with any drug, there are associated health risks. One such example is with pills that contain the diet drug Ephedra, which is banned in the US due to health risks (recent formulations of Suddenly Slim products have substituted Ephedra with bitter orange).

The Suddenly Slim diet is often considered to be a “fad diet” that works for some but not all. One of the reasons this diet can fail is because it is almost impossible to achieve long-lasting weight loss in only ten days. Many people on the Suddenly Slim diet plan, report losing weight but end up regaining it after the diet is over. For most people, it takes dedication and lifestyle changes to permanently keep weight off. Usually, long-term commitments such as good eating habits and regular exercise will lead to weight loss.

Unfortunately, many overweight people have a tough time maintaining a healthy lifestyle for keeping weight off. Many struggle to lose weight because they suffer from out-of-control appetites, emotional stress, strong food cravings, or a lack of motivation. Since these are psychological or “thought-based” problems, hypnotherapy has been shown to be an effective weight loss tool that helps eliminate these issues and helps people lose weight on their own.

One of the greatest uses for hypnosis is for appetite suppression. Hypnotic therapy works using the unconscious mind to treat the mental causes of an out-of-control appetite. Many people cannot seem to control their appetites because they are “emotional eaters,” who eat in response to their emotions, such as when they are angry or bored. Hypnosis breaks the unconscious link between our feelings and eating to free emotional eaters from the urge to overeat.

Another reason why an individual may have an out-of-control appetite is because the individual is unconsciously “conditioned” to eat in certain scenarios. For example, it is easy to “veg out” in front of the television and eat a ton of junk food, even when you aren’t really hungry. Hypnotic therapy helps re-train the unconscious mind to remove the urge to mindlessly overeat, resulting in appetite control without pills.

Hypnotic therapy is also an effective tool for overcoming stress. Stress and anxiety often cause people to overeat, or reduces their drive to exercise and care for their own health. Hypnotherapy techniques, especially the newer forms called Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), can help you keep an optimistic frame of mind and deal with stress in a way that promotes your health and a stress-free life.

A lack of motivation is another serious problem that stands between many dieters and success. Hypnosis therapy and NLP techniques are the answer for supplying motivation. First, you think about and identify what is most important in your life. Then you take advantage of NLP to make yourself think that the important things in your life will enjoy gains if you exercise and enhance your health and your looks. This lets you stay powerfully motivated to exercise and tone your body.

Anyone can learn hypnosis techniques and NLP from the right hypnosis weight loss CD program. Hypnosis weight loss CDs use the remarkable abilities of the unconscious mind to let dieters take off weight. By eliminating cravings and urges to overeat, the appetite is controlled in a non-invasive, effective way. Correctly developed hypnosis therapy will easily increase one’s drive to exercise and help achieve one’s weight loss goals. Because weight loss hypnotherapy is excellent at helping dieters to lose weight naturally and for good, it has become an immensely popular weight loss aid that works for everyone.

Weight Loss Miracle – Hypnosis Plus the Ornish Lifestyle Diet

October 11th, 2009

The Ornish Diet is a low fat, vegetarian diet program. Correct application of the nutrition plan, exercise, and stress-management techniques of this diet results in weight loss and improved health for most people. Although this diet takes more dedication than many other diets, and often requires big lifestyle changes for the dieter, research indicates that it is effective for both losing weight and reversing heart disease. With its emphasis on stress-management and choosing healthy foods, this diet is also a perfect candidate for combined use with hypnosis therapy.

The Ornish diet can be in one of two, slightly different formulations, a Preventative diet and a Reversal diet. The Reversal diet is formulated for people already suffering from heart disease who want to reverse the effects of the disease and reduce their risk for heart attacks. The Preventative diet is perfect for people who need to shed pounds and lower their chance of developing heart disease. It is also suitable for people trying to lower their cholesterol levels.

Both versions of the Ornish diet recommend a diet plan that is composed of 10% fat, 20% protein, and 70% complex carbohydrates. Under the diet, all meat, fish, and poultry are to be avoided. All fats, nuts, seeds, and oils are also not permitted. Refined carbohydrate foods such as white flour and white rice are also banned, but whole grain pasta and bread, beans, and legumes are permitted.

Foods allowed in limited quantities include egg whites and fat free dairy products such as fat-free milk, yogurt, and cheese. Most processed foods are to be avoided, since any convenience foods with more than two grams of fat per serving are not permitted.

The diet allows you to eat beans, vegetables, whole grains, and fruit at every meal until you feel full. The good thing about this program is that since you are permitted to consume as much as you want of permitted foods, you can feel full and satisfied all the time. This program, unlike many others, is not based on unsafe “starvation” methods.

In addition to the diet plan, another important key to the Ornish diet program is stress-management. There are many stress-reducing practices you can use, such as yoga, meditation, and hypnosis. Hypnosis is ideal for relieving anxiety and tension while supporting natural weight loss. Hypnosis works by guiding your unconscious mind to having positive thoughts instead of negative thoughts when you begin to feel anxious. These techniques are extremely effective in promoting relaxation.

While the Ornish diet is healthy and effective for most dieters, it can be challenging to follow because it involves many restrictions. This diet and others similar to it often fail because people are unable to stay on them. Many people struggle with dieting because they suffer from an uncontrollable appetite, irresistible food cravings, compulsive overeating, or a simple lack of motivation to stick to a weight loss program. These obstacles keep many hard-working dieters from maintaining their diet and achieving permanent weight loss. Hypnosis therapy helps you beat these obstacles, and is an effective complement to the Ornish diet plan because it offers motivation to stay on a weight loss program.

Hypnosis works to control and regulate the appetite by “reprogramming” the unconscious mind to eliminate and replace bad habits with good ones. A lifetime of unhealthy eating habits such as “emotional eating” can cause people to eat compulsively, even when they are not truly hungry. Hypnosis breaks unhealthy associations with food and our feelings to eliminate this conditioned response and prevent emotional eating. Hypnosis can further influence dieting success by replacing the overeating response with another activity, such as exercise. This way, instead of feeling the urge to overeat, you will have the motivation to engage in healthy physical activity.

Hypnosis can also be used to quell the emotional anxieties that keep you from losing weight. For many people, being overweight provides a “secondary gain” in the form of a sense of emotional protection or safety. For instance, many people with low self-esteem fear rejection, so they use their weight as a reason to believe that other people will dislike them.  Through hypnosis, we can think more positively and focus on improving our health instead of becoming overwhelmed by such anxieties. We can use hypnotherapy to boost our self-esteem, placing more value on ourselves and our own health.

Hypnosis offers a powerful, natural combination of stress-management, motivation, and behavior modification to encourage weight loss and help you follow your preferred diet plan. Using hypnosis with the Ornish diet is especially effective, but hypnotherapy is great for helping dieters stay on any diet program. Hypnosis promotes the success of weight loss diet programs as well as natural weight loss so people can enjoy permanent results.
